Conference Awards

PARSA honours the best presenters at every PARSA conference. There are 3 awards for posters (first-time presenter, senior student, and veteran) and 3 awards for oral presentations (first-time presenter, senior student, and veteran).

Criteria:

The first-time presenter is anyone (not only students) who is presenting a poster/presentation for the first time at a national conference. If he/she has already presented at an international conference he/she is also eliminated.

The senior student is any full-time student who has already presented on a national or international level before and is not employed on a full-time basis.

The veteran presenter is anyone who has already presented on a national or international level before and is employed on a full-time basis, irrespective of whether he/she is registered for post-grad studies or not.

Oral presentations are judged on their presentation and handling of questions in the 15 minute time allocation.

Poster presentations are judged on the physical poster, a speed session presentation (3 minutes) of the poster (if applicable) and handling of questions (total of 5 minutes).
